we are housing 75 gold fish for two days. Are they OK in very large glass jars?
we are using old fashioned candy store jars with lids(no lids of course) they coming to top for (air) are they OK?
Is your friend with the travelling carnival where if you get the quarter in the glass you win the fish? Gold fish are very hardy fish. If you want to get a tank cycled and don't want to put your "good" fish through the ammonia spikes, gold fish are the answer. Here is a web page that has some Labyrinth Fish.

The Labyrinth organ is a unique organ in some fishes that allows them to breath air. Gold fish are not listed here but I think Gold fish and also cat fish have the same organ. I could be wrong but, I dont think so.
Do you have untreated well water where you are now? If so, do a 50% water change. Put half the fish in with the other fish. Clean in fill half the jars up with clean unclorinated water. Let the jars get back to room temp then dump 3/4 of the water out of the old jars, fill them up with the clean jars, then put 1/4 the water and fish back from the old jars into the new jars.
Got it... Good Luck
You are a good friend to take on all those fish.
